Patriots Equal Longest Winning Streak Since Brady Years with Triumph Over New York Jets

Rookie Henderson has tallied five TDs this season

New England matched their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady period as they beat division rivals the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since iconic QB Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had gone in front at Foxborough with quarterback Fields running in a short rushing score to conclude the New York's first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"It was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," Maye commented on the rookie. "He wants to be excellent."

Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the triumph
