Two Individuals Charged with Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
